Effective date: February 26, 2026
1. What We Process
WordBlock processes data only to provide vocabulary lookup features triggered by user actions.
- Local browser storage: lookup cache, history, favorites, and AI settings.
- Network requests: selected word content sent to dictionary/etymology services when lookup runs.
- If AI is enabled by user: word and related context may be sent to user-configured AI provider.
2. Purpose of Use
- Provide definition, etymology, morpheme analysis, AI explanation, history, and favorites.
- Improve lookup continuity through local caching and local learning records.
- Not used for advertising personalization.
3. Data Sharing
- We do not sell personal data.
- When AI is enabled, requests are sent to the provider configured by the user.
- Third-party provider handling follows that provider's own policy.
4. Retention & Control
- Data is stored locally in Chrome storage by default.
- Users can disable AI any time.
- Users can remove data by clearing extension storage or uninstalling the extension.
